Get ready for PSD2

What is PSD2?

PSD2 is a EU-directive that will effect the rules for purchases made digitally. It enters into force on the 14th of september 2019 and means that banks will require Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) on most purchases. This means, among other things, that online purchases must be verified by the customer through, for example, 3D secure.

What do I need to do if I use Krokedil plugins?

Here we have gathered information about what you need to do as an e-merchant, depending on which payment solution (and thus which of Krokedil’s plugins) you use.

In short, if you have an embedded checkout in your online store you don’t need to do anything, as the payment provider takes care of it.

If you, on the other hand, don’t have an embedded checkout, you need to contact your acquiring bank for more information about what is required of you.

If you are not sure what kind of checkout you have, you can look in the list below:

Dibs D2 (Dibs for WooCommerce) – Contact your acquiring bank. If you have Nets as your acquiring bank contact DIBS.

Dibs Easy – No action is required.

Klarna Checkout – No action is required.

Klarna Payment – No action is required.

Collector Checkout – No action is required.

Payson Checkout – No action is required.

Ecster Pay No action is required.

Payer – No action is required.

If you have more specific questions, you can of course contact your payment provider directly for more information.
